Welcome…
I had a blog once, before writing became intimidating. Intimidating because I started paying attention to the voices telling me my writing was not good enough, that I should be meeting a certain standard. However, what that created was the longest and strongest writer’s blog I have ever gone through. Every time I started typing, the voices got so loud that I was paralysed for hours. The hours soon became weeks, and the weeks months. Thankfully, the months didn’t become years.
Over the months, while I was too paralysed to write, I still liked to tell stories. So I spoke incessantly, to an almost irritating degree [yes, I also know that my chatter can get a little too much]. Then I realised that no one was criticising my grammar as I spoke, and that even when they did, it was not to a point of making me lose my voice. And that’s just what I have been doing by not blogging… losing my voice on what I think about things, even when they are random. Realising this has taken a burden off my shoulders albeit one that I put there myself.
So this is where I will be putting my thoughts, observations and tidbits of several things. I decided to name the blog Kenganzi as a reminder that while other people’s opinions are welcome, at the end of the day, I am accountable to who God made me out to be. That He blessed me with words, and I should therefore use them. And that they don’t have to be as flowery, intellectual or whatever as someone else’s.
And just like you bring a few old things from your old house when you move, this blog has a few of my post from my old blog and articles I wrote for the Daily Monitor. So if they look familiar, it is because they are.
Welcome… I hope that when you visit, you’ll feel right at home, come back and even bring a few friends over.
Ps
If you like it and would like to add your voice, you are welcome to do it. So articles are welcome.
