Do Your thing
“I’m about to do something brand-new… Don’t you see it?”
Yes, I see it Lord.
And right now it looks like a messy construction site.
I’m trying to look past the mess
To the beautiful structure you’re building.
But my eyes cannot look past the dug-up holes in the ground.
I’m guessing those holes are making way for something
But I can’t see it now.
All I see are the uprooted trees and grass,
I’m guessing the uprooting serves a purpose.
But I won’t lie that it doesn’t come with a little disappointment.
Disappointment. Now there’s a word I’m familiar with!
Because I thought I caught a glimpse of the plan.
You know, the plan You’re using to do this brand-new thing?
But I was mistaken.
This messy construction site looks nothing like the glimpse I had.
And that’s just it.
I may be standing in the middle of the messy construction site.
Without an idea of what it is exactly You’re doing
And that is okay,
It must be okay.
See, You have more than an idea
You know the finished work.
And You say this new thing is a way in the wilderness
And streams in the wasteland
And you know what?
I believe you
You, who is doing this new thing have a plan for me
I don’t completely know what it is
But I know it is good.
You have proved it so time and time again.
So I will trust Your process
Even when I don’t exactly love it
I will trust the process
I will trust You.
Do Your brand-new thing.
